Sarah and Ian met in Essex Hall at Western University in September 2017. Sarah was Ian's Soph (lol), which meant they both lived on the same floor in residence.

Sarah and Ian soon found that they had a lot in common. They would spend weekends watching their favourite movies and listening to the vinyl records they each had brought to school from home. Their hobbies had started to merge, and the two found themselves doing everything together - from studying at cafes to grocery shopping at the Metro.

Eventually, Sarah realized that she had a crush on Ian. So, she asked him to visit a bookstore with her on a Sunday afternoon in February. Sarah never intended it to be a date (lies), but they now refer to this outing as Ian and Sarah's First Date.

After a few months of spending more time together, on March 9th, 2018, Sarah finally asked Ian, "So... are we dating?" To which Ian replied, "I've thought of you as my girlfriend for at least a week now."

Sarah and Ian spent the rest of their time at Western with each other. In the fall of 2021, they moved into their first apartment. Though they have moved from apartment to apartment since 2021, they have always created a home wherever they went.

On April 7th, 2024, Ian took Sarah to Sandbanks Provincial Park and asked her to marry him. Sarah hugged Ian so tightly and cried so much she almost forgot to say "yes". Although Ian's knee got wet in the spring mud and the crisp air had Sarah shivering, the proposal could not have been more perfect.

Sarah and Ian have experienced 7 wonderful years together and are thrilled to start this next part of their lives with all of their loved ones.
